Biography: Sigmund Bing belonged to a famous Jewish photographer family that was one of the most popular in Vienna before the First World War. The two brothers, Sigmund and Bertold, started working in photography in the 1890s and had several studios in the city until 1938. The Nazis persecuted them. Sigmund and his family moved to the Netherlands. Sigmund Bing died in a concentration camp in 1944.
