Object description
According to the Ukrainian-language simple pencil inscription under the photograph: "Ivanova A.M. Pioneers". The artist's original work is in the collection of the Gallery (Ж-5138). On the back of the painting is a paper label with a russian inscription in blue ink: "Ivanova Antonina Mykol. 1962 Moscow 'Pioneers'". This information is the basis for the dating of the painting in the photograph and the place where it was photographed. Regarding the subject of the work, there are certain resonances with the panel "Lenin's Order" (silk painting, 1969), known from the photograph and kept in Antonina Ivanova's archive. Stylistically, the painting is reminiscent of the practices of the artists of Mykhailo Boichuk's circle, both in interpreting the figures at the level of plastic anatomy and in the formal solution of the clothing or the environment in which the action takes place. In addition, the figurative interpretation echoes "iconicity" in the development of pictorial imagery and technical solutions.
