Object description
The photograph captures a frontal view of an 18th-century polychrome wooden sculpture from the Gallery’s collection. The nature of the photography indicates that it was taken for internal museum documentation. The sculpture is photographed against a neutral, mid-tone background, with the object placed on a plinth of unestablished height. The undeniable value of this photographic document lies in its record of the sculpture’s history at a certain stage of its existence, specifically its condition between conservation interventions and toning, and confirms that the loss of the upper limbs had already occurred at that stage of the object’s existence.
