Object description
A series of 22 photographs from various angles and in detail captures the polychrome wooden sculpture, specifically the figures of Abraham and Isaac from the composition "Sacrifice of Abraham" by Johann Georg Pinsel from the Gallery’s collection. The nature of the photography, particularly showing the objects in a dismantled state, indicates that it was taken for internal museum documentation. The sculptural objects are photographed against a neutral, mid-tone background. The undeniable value of these photographic documents lies in their record of the works’ history at a certain stage of their existence, specifically their condition between conservation interventions.
