Object description
The photograph captures an image of the 17th-century sculpture "Figure of a Knight (Allegorical Figure)" from the Gallery’s collection. The work is executed in a dynamic pose and decorated in Rococo attire, characteristic of local Rococo plastic art. The images record the object’s state of preservation at the time of photography, specifically the absence of the left hand and general surface abrasions caused by wood-boring insects. The nature of the photography indicates that it was taken for internal museum documentation. The sculpture is photographed against a neutral, mid-tone background. The undeniable value of this photographic document lies in its record of the work’s history at a certain stage of its existence.
