Object description
In the half-length portrait, the figure of a man in knight's armour emerges from a dark background against a decorative drapery. The image is executed in the traditions of representational painting. The main attention is concentrated on the face: high forehead, definite arches of eyebrows, straight nose, a purposeful look of brown eyes which are drawn flat - convey the image of a confident and strong-willed man. The dominant accent in the work is a red cloak embroidered with a golden braid which is fixed on the left shoulder. There are tangible Baroque influences in the depiction of the character in the portrait.
