Ignacy Sadowski (Nalecz coat of arms) was a son of Reichald, castellan of Brest, and Krystyna Pociejowa. Ignacy Sadowski was the elder of Slonim, and Colonel of Lithuanian Troops. The ceremonial image depicts a mature man in a red cape, which is lined with fur, over knightly armor. The half-length portrait of Ignacy Sadowski is characteristic of the ceremonial and representative images of the 18th century, which are characterized by monumentality and a refined depiction of man. The man is shown in an official pose, slightly turned; his left hand is on the hilt of a saber, and in his right hand there is a mace. Every detail in the portrait is painted carefully, in the manner typical of a provincial artist. Portrait features are conveyed in a planar manner: high forehead, thin lines of gray eyebrows, straight nose, curled mustache, and massive chin. The image is accompanied by an inscription, which turned into a short biography.
