Portrait of Tereza Sapieha of Wielopolski family
Information about author
In the portrait, Tereza Sapieha Wielopolska is depicted dressed sumptuously as the goddess Diana, with a bow in her left hand and an image of a dog. She has her hair styled in an updo hairdo. In the upper corner of the work, there is the inscription: «Therest SAPICHA.| nee WIELOPOLSKA», on the reverse - "... Paris". T. Sabodasz believes that the iconographic type is close to the portrait of Dorothea of Holstein (Piter Nason, II half of the 17th century, Poland). It can therefore be assumed that the inscription on the picture is wrong and has been added later.
