Object description
Against the background of brown drapery and a massive column, there is a woman sitting proudly on a chair with a red back. The unknown lady is portrayed in a black dress, which covers her whole body, adorned with a pearl necklace, and white lace cuffs and a collar. This painting of the Pidhirtsi Castle collection was placed in the Yellow Hall. Since 1859, according to the inventory records, it has been referred to as "Portrait of a Lady. Copy after Van Dyck". This image is a fragment of the work "Portrait of a Lady with her Daughter" (1629) by Anthony van Dyck (1599–1641), which is housed in the Louvre.
