Biography
Stanislaw Wyspianski was born in 1869 in Krakow. He studied at the Jagiellonian University and Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was a member of the Young Poland movement, and art editor of the weekly Życie (Life). Stanislaw Wyspianski is known as a playwright and poet, modernist painter, and designer. The artist died in November 1907. He was buried in Krakow.
Object description
a) In the drawing, one can see a castle complex with elements of Gothic and architecture that resembles medieval France. Six towers are painted clearly; the tallest one has a superstructure depicted to the viewer’s right. The castle is depicted with an open gate on two massive hinges. b) One can see the plasticity of the horse's movement. The animal is shown turned to the viewer’s left. The mane and tail of the animal are painted vaguely
