Biography
Stanislaw Wyspianski was born in 1869 in Krakow. He studied at the Jagiellonian University and Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was a member of the Young Poland movement, and art editor of the weekly Życie (Life). Stanislaw Wyspianski is known as a playwright and poet, modernist painter, and designer. The artist died in November 1907. He was buried in Krakow.
Object description
a) This is a study of the heads of two girls and a child. The images of heads are different in sizes (the largest one is in the central part of the work). The gaze of all characters is directed at the viewer. The heads vary in different forms of a hair style. The central character is depicted with flowing shoulder-length hair that is decorated with a small black bow. b) This is a study of the heads of two girls. In the upper part of the work there is a full-faced image of a girl's head that is depicted with curls. In the lower part of the work there is a full-faced image of a girl's head that is depicted with combed back hair.

a) At the bottom right there is the author monogram.
