Wiktoria Pociejowa was a daughter of Stanislaw Potocki, voivode of Poznan Voivodeship, and Helena Zamoyska. She was married to the Lithuanian guard Ludwik Pociej. Painted by an unknown artist, this work is created in a tradition of the ceremonial European portrait of the 2d half of the 18th c. Wiktoria is depicted in a slight turn on a dark background. Her face is illuminated in order to draw the viewers’ attention to the person portrayed. The woman is clothed in a low-necked dress with a precious brooch on it. On her neck, there is a fashionable for the Rococo period black ribbon, and on her head, there is an ash wig. The artist paid special attention to the aristocratic features of the noble lady. There is also a replica of this portrait painted by F. Pawlikowicz (Ж-4530), which belonged to the Potocki-Sadowski collection.
