Object description
Katarzyna Bielska came from the Mierzejewski family. She was a daughter of Krzysztof Mierzejewski, a castellan of Sochaczew, and Rozalia Danilowicz. A clear and majestic image of a woman in a solemn pose stands out against a neutral background. On top of the low-necked dress, there is a red drapery in dynamic folds, which is a dominant element in a restrained color scheme. In the upper right corner of the painting there is an inscription: "KATARZYNA Z MIERZE: | JEWSKICH BIELSKA | CORKA KRZYSZTOFA MIE ..| KASZTELANA SOCHACZEWS: | KIEGO I ROSALII | DANILOWICZOWNY woiewod:...".
