Object description
The sculptural image of a saint sitting is designed for the pulpit. The saint is depicted with his arms outstretched, and his head, crowned with a mitre and decorated with an ornament of curls and lines, is turned to the left. Curls of dark hair and long wavy beard strands frame the concentrated face with a distant look. The hollow cheeks with expressive cheekbones and deep-set eyes add emotion to the image. The saint's clothes are shaped by massive folds that envelop the figure and fall in diagonal lines.
