Biography
Oleksii Usachov (1891–1957) was a russian soviet graphic artist and teacher. In 1912, he graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Later, he studied at VKhUTEMAS (Higher Art and Technical Studios). In 1925–1930, he taught at the Kyiv Art Institute. Most of his works he performed in the technique of engraving on wood: portraits, landscapes, scenes of everyday life, bookplates, posters, and banners. Also, he performed Ukrainian issues: the book "Hand to the Brothers" and the guidebook "Kyiv". He participated in "Modern Ukrainian Graphics" exhibitions organised by the Association of Independent Ukrainian Artists in Lviv.
