Object description
The frontal sculpture depicts a putto holding a low bowl on his head with his right hand. Such figures in relaxed poses were typical of Renaissance and Baroque art. The calm and balanced putto is depicted with a round face with a soft oval line, large expressive eyes framed by clear eyelid arcs, chubby cheeks, and a protruding chin. His face is framed by waves of curly hair, rhythmically arranged in a neat hairstyle made with shallow incisor cuts. A drapery, one end of which is thrown over the boy's left shoulder, covers his naked figure. The drapery's soft, shallow folds are modelled by smooth, parallel vertical and horizontal lines in low relief.
