Biography
Glebus Sainciuc (19.07.1919–16.10.2012) was a Moldovan portrait painter, national artist of Moldova, and Doctor of Sciences (Honoris Causa) of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences. He is known for collecting papier-mâché masks of writers and cultural and artistic figures. He was born in Chisinau. Glebus Sainciuc graduated from the "B.P. Hasdeu" lyceum. From 1942 to 1944, he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. In 1947, he graduated from the Illia Repin School of Fine Arts in Chisinau, and in the same year, he was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Republic of Moldova. In 1994, Glebus Sainciuc participated in the Theatre Festival in Avignon, France. The artist's works include paintings, graphic works, caricatures, and masks.

Below the image on the right is a diagonal gift inscription, date, and autograph of the artist. On the reverse, the number "119" is written in pencil in a triangle at the top left. Next is an inscription in pencil: "G. Sainciuc. Portrait of E. Mysko; paper, ballpoint pen, 30.1 х 21".
