Object description
A half-length portrait of a young man in a red frock coat with a white jabot, depicted in a slight turn to the right, looking at the viewer. In his right hand, the man holds a small sheet of paper (possibly a letter). Powdered hair styled in the fashionable mid-18th century "à la Catogne" hairstyle. The subject is depicted against a background of dark drapery. On the right, part of a large column is visible, at the base of which a noble coat of arms is depicted.
