The half-length portrait of a woman is in the tradition of 18th-century secular portraiture. Stylistic changes in the Ukrainian portraiture were in line with the trends of European painting. Images of fashionable dandies began to appear alongside the figures of courageous men with stern faces, as well as unemotional and restrained women on the canvases were replaced by ladies slightly smiling. The image is devoid of static and reveals an emotional color and expression, along with the inner world of the portrayed. The woman is depicted in a luxurious décolleté dress, embellished with lace. On her head there is a fashionable ashy wig adorned with a tiara, and massive earrings in her ears. From the portrait, a charming woman with large, lovely eyes, a straight nose, and a soft oval face looks out at us. There is a faint smile on her lips. A red cape stands out as a bright spot. The work is executed in a silvery ochre colour scheme.
