Object description
A small sculpture from the Murovane village presents the figure of a young person with a graceful face. The artwork is carved from a single piece of wood. The kneeling figure is dressed in a long tunic and a light shirt with a small collar. Characteristic of folk artists, the rhythmically repeating folds of the clothing are meticulously carved. The oval face with round rosy cheeks, a snub nose, full lips, and an open gaze is framed by waves of black hair, reminiscent of the 17th-century Austrian School masters style. The sculpture is a pair to the artwork numbered С-I-1252.
