Object description
An oval-shaped tsuba (nagamaru gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the center and two holes (hitsu-ana) on either side of it for kozuka and kogai. Right below on the front side there is an applied silver relief image of Fukurokuju, the god of happiness, sitting in a boat. Above the image of Fukurokuju there is an engraved image of a tree branch with two applied bronze chrysanthemum flowers. On the reverse side under the holes there is an applied relief image of a curved staff.
