Object description
The Grand Mufti is the title of the highest spiritual person who has the right to decide religious and legal matters and explain the application of Sharia law. The portrait depicts a full-length man wearing a boyl yenli kürk coat of white cloth lined with brown fur, wide sleeves, and a large collar. Underneath is a white caftan, and on his head is a large turban in the form of a dome. He wears blue shoes on his feet. He holds an open book in his left hand, probably a Quran.
