A quatrefoil tsuba (mokko-gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the centre. At the top of the hole is a copper insert (sekigane). On the right side of the triangular hole is an oval hole (hitsu-ana) for attaching a functional kozuka pin. On the front and back of the tsuba is a circular embossed composition with images of squirrels against a vine background. The tsuba has a meander pattern on its rim (mimi).
