Object description
A round-shaped tsuba (maru-gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the centre and two holes alongside it (hitsu-ana) for kozuka and kogai. The upper and lower parts of the central hole are notched. The front of the tsuba is decorated with a relief cut-through depiction of two wild ginger leaves, bamboo leaves, and three birds flying over the sea, as the lower part depicts stormy waves.
