Object description
The work is a full-length sculptural image of an angel sitting in a dynamic pose with his head tilted to the left shoulder and his arms outstretched to the left. The sculpture was created in the tradition of Baroque plastics. The author has anatomically skilfully reproduced a child with a plump body, with numerous folds on the arms and legs. The angel is depicted with a neat hairstyle of wavy strands of hair. Polychromy enhances the realism of the image. The naked body is covered only by a drapery that envelops it in a gentle wave. Smooth lines model the drapery, worked out in low relief. The dreamy and lyrical image of the angel, full of calmness and childish naivety, is complemented by a rounded face with a soft contour line, almond-shaped blue eyes, plump cheeks, a snub nose, lips closed in a light smile, and an expressive chin.
