The work is executed in the tradition of classicism. It is a multi-figure isocephalic composition depicting one of the miracles of Christ – the healing of the blind man in Bethsaida (Mark 8:22-26). To the left of the compositional centre, the figure of Christ is emphasised, reaching out his hand to a man kneeling with his head bowed, pointing to something with one finger and holding his other hand above the ground. The central part is occupied by the figures of a surprised old man with a staff and a married couple of aristocrats. Behind them, on the right, are other people looking in amazement at the healed man. In the crowd to the left of Christ, people are looking at both the man kneeling and the Saviour. All are dressed in ancient clothing, and the man from the married couple is in military armour. In the background at the top, fragments of architectural structures can be seen.
