Object description
This object of decorative and applied art is a bell in the shape of a peasant woman in a lavish outfit: a long dress with a patterned apron with two pockets; a shawl is worn over a shirt with cuffs on the shoulders. The woman is wearing a bonnet with a cap: such headdresses were worn by married peasant women in northern France, in particular by Bretons. The woman's arms are crossed at the waist, and her head is humbly tilted down. The figure probably represents a maid summoned by an aristocratic master with a bell. The bell's tongue is preserved inside.
Inscriptions
At the bottom of the inner part of the bell, there are inscriptions: in white – "№ С-І- 557/ Л.ОКГ"; in yellow – "0/1008" (crossed out in red).
