Biography
Bogumił Gąsiorowski (1819 – 17 May 1887) was a Polish artist. He was born in Kraków. In 1836, he enrolled at the Kraków School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1840. He created compositions depicting Krakow architecture, landscapes, portraits, and works on historical, biblical, and mythological themes. B. Gąsiorowski's drawings were included in Wojciech Gochalkowski's (1809–1866) book "Wspomnienia lat uprzedzych" (Memories of Past Years, 1862, Kraków). He participated in exhibitions of the Kraków Society of Friends of Fine Arts. He preferred watercolour and gouache techniques, but also drew with a pen. The artist's works are kept in the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery, the Jagiellonian Library, the Krakow Historical Museum, the Royal Castle at Wawel, the National Museum in Krakow, and the National Museum in Warsaw. The artist died in Krakow on 17 May 1887.
