Biography
Marceli Maszkowski (1837, Lviv – 1862, Lviv) was a Polish and Ukrainian portrait painter, lithographer, and sculptor. He was the son of the artist Jan Maszkowski. He studied painting under his father, Jan Maszkowski, and then continued his education at the academies in Vienna and Munich. For a time, he lived and worked in Leipzig and Dresden, where he created magazine illustrations. He primarily painted portraits of prominent figures in the Lviv community.
