Biography
Неnryk Langerman (1896–1944)) was born in Drohobych. He was born in Drohobych. Renowned painter and draftsman. He studied at the Munich Academy of Art and also in Vienna. Actively participated in the life of the Lviv Jewish community. Later went to Paris where he worked and travelled. He worked on commission for the Lviv Jewish community, for which he painted several portraits of prominent members. In his later years, he moved to Lviv, where he was imprisoned in a concentration camp, where he died, painting mostly domestic scenes of the poor suburbs.
Object description
Against a background of conditionally marked trees, a chest image of two women in typical Breton gowns and white bonnets. The composition is dominated by dark pink and brick orange tones in the shadows and reflections of grey-green and white. The background is dominated by blue-green tones.
