Biography
Jozef Chojnicki was a Polish painter who was born and died in Lviv. He was a student of Stanislaw Stroinski. He created religious and portrait paintings. The artist painted the Dominican church in Ternopil and several works for the Lviv Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption: "Angels and St. Stanislaus", "St. Wenceslaus and Florian", and others. The portrait of the French queen Marie Antoinette (Ж-1782), signed by the author, is part of the Gallery collection.
Object description
Antoni Bielski (c. 1720 – 28 February 1789) – Polish nobleman of the Jelita coat of arms, starost of Chernivtsi and Rabshyn (1749), court huntsman (1750), judge of the Lviv region (1764). On 19 November 1778, he received the title of Austrian count from Empress Maria Theresa. In 1781, he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislaus, and in 1782, he became a Knight of the Order of the White Eagle. He was married to Tekla Kalinowska, starost of Vinnytsia. They had a son, Boguslav, and six daughters: Aniela (1766–1832) – wife of Ignacy Mionczyński, a collector and valet of the Polish court; Maria – wife of Count Franciszek Trębiński; Elżbieta – wife of Lviv standard-bearer Ignacy Bielski; Julianna – wife of Count Dominik Herakliusz Dzieduszycky of the Sas coat of arms; Franciszka Zofia – wife of Crown Chamberlain Ignacy Stempkowsky; Tekla Lukrecja (1758–1806) – a nun in Lviv.
