Object description
Mykhailo Kwasnytskyi (?–1801) was a son of Stefan Kwasnytskyi, the presbyter of the Busk church. Mykhailo died as a child. He was buried in the same church in the town of Busk, as evidenced by the inscription on the icon commissioned by his father. In the work, an unknown artist used a European composition that was not common in Ukraine. The central place in the work is occupied by a guardian angel, who accompanies little Mykhailo, pointing him the way. At the bottom of the icon there is an inscription: "Сию икону создал Шенін/ Іерей Стефань Квасньцкій превирть бузкій во памать/ оусобшаго Сіна Свого Млца Михаила и здево храм погребенаго: Р. Б. Аша: [1801] / дна о Мца Декемриа". The icon comes from the church of St. Paraskeva in the town of Busk.
