A series of four rural landscapes called "Première suete de quatre paysages" ("The First Series of Four Landscapes") was published for the first time in 1641. Around 1643, the Lviv sheets were printed at Pierre Mariette's publishing house. Their performer is considered to be Francois Collignon, the French graphic designer and close friend of della Bella. Collaboration between engravers was a common practice, so Collignon repeatedly made engravings based on Stefano della Bella's drawings or replicated his previously published series. The engraving depicts a panoramic landscape with a pastoral scene. A shepherd in the foreground raises his arms to herd oxen and sheep. To the left, there is another shepherd who, leaning on a stick, stands on a hill among trees and watches the oxen descend into the valley. In the background, two travellers cross a stone bridge over a river in the distance.
