Anna Potocka (1724–1772) – daughter of Stanislaw Potocki, Voivode of Poznan, and Marianna Leszczowna. Wife of Franciszek Salezy Potocki, Voivode of Kyiv. She was a possessive and despotic woman. The half-length portrait was made in the traditions of secular portraiture of the 18th century. A rich colour scheme, excessive detailing of the character and accessories, a flat manner of execution, and ceremoniousness typical of primitivist artists characterise it. The changes in the style of Ukrainian portraiture coincided with the changes that were taking place in European painting. Women were painted in fashionable European gowns and wigs, and smiles appeared on the lips of the women, which gave emotionality to the portraits. In the portrait collection of the Lviv National Art Gallery, there are two more images of Anna Potocka from Chortkiv. They are similar in their compositional solution and differ only in execution. On the back is a sticker with the inscription: "Potocka | wojewodzina kijowska".
