In the absence of a clearly defined iconographic scheme for the image of the angel, folk artists carved figures with and without wings, giving angels the features of small children, boys, and girls. The small, squat, full-length figure of the angel from the village of Khorobriv is depicted as a young man. It is paired with sculpture С-I-1713. The frontal figure is emotionless and static, with hands raised in prayer, a pale face, and a fixed gaze from small, close-set eyes. The elongated oval of the face is surrounded by curls of hair drawn in flat, serrated lines. The angel's body is covered by a long tunic girded with a belt, exposing only his feet. The garment is modelled with graphically elaborate shallow vertical lines that rhythmically cover the entire surface. The preserved polychrome complements the plastic perception of the sculpture and emphasises its naive image.
