Object description
A quatrefoil tsuba (mokko-gata) with a wedge-shaped central hole (nakago-ana) with copper inlays and two holes along it (hitsu-ana) for kozuka and kogai. On the front side of the tsuba, in the lower part, there is an image of two warriors in samurai armour, the details of which contain gilding, silver and copper inserts. In the upper right part is a plum blossom tree with silver inlays. On the reverse side, on the left is a branch with inlaid silver speckles and an embossed image of stones with silver and gold inlays. The rim of the tsuba is smooth and slightly thickened.
