A quatrefoil tsuba (mokko-gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the centre and a hole (hitsu-ana) for kozuka. The edge of the tsuba is thickened and rounded. The flat surface is covered with a relief image, which on the front depicts an old man in a long coloured robe and a boy standing on a hill, against a background of a mountain top and a waterfall. The reverse side of the tsuba depicts a rocky shore over water. All images contain gold, silver and copper inlays.
