Object description
The Crucifixion of Christ is the execution of Jesus Christ by crucifixion on the cross. It is the episode that concludes the Passion of Christ and precedes the burial and resurrection of the Saviour. The composition shows the nailing to the cross. Organised along its diagonal, the image is characterised by narrative, psychology, and the careful modelling of figures and faces.
