Object description
This is a work of a craft-based nature made by a Renaissance master. The figure of a dancer, paired with the figure of a "Female Dancer", stands on one leg on a wooden profiled plinth due to the balanced way the sculpture is modelled. The figure's vertical axis, from the head to the right leg, is counterbalanced by the left leg bent at the knee, arms spread in different directions, and flowing drapery of a light cape. The dancer's head with long hair is presented in profile; a ribbon is thrown over his right shoulder, and a fragment of a cape rests on his thigh. Despite the artist's intention to convey dynamism, the figure is static, reflecting an average level of skill.
Inscriptions
On the edge of the wooden base, there is an inscription in white paint: "№ С-І-537 – Л.ОКГ". On the back of the base, in the middle, there is the number "0988"; a stamp (partially torn off) with the number "988" (crossed out in red).
