Object description
The angel's head is characterised by delicate detailing and a combination of realistic features with stylisation. The cherub's expression is focused, conveying a sense of spiritual elevation, while the polychromy gives the image greater expressiveness and lifelike quality. The master paid special attention to the smoothness of the contours and proportions, thanks to which the image seems alive and expressive. The angel's head is endowed with the features of a child, characterised by rounded forms, symbolising purity, innocence, and spiritual joy, which are typical of images of cherubs. The elongated face, with plump cheeks, small lips, and a snub nose, has a gentle expression, giving the image a sense of heavenly purity and tranquility. The eyes are outlined discreetly, as if immersed in an inner contemplative state, and the playfully scattered strands of wavy hair fill the image with emotional resonance.
