Biography
There is no information about the author’s biography. According to the signed and dated works, it is considered that the artist worked in Paris and Warsaw in the last quarter of the 18th century.
Object description
One can see a noblewoman in the interior of the palace, with the stone ornamented floor, column, lush drapery, desk, and baroque chair with red upholstery. She is dressed in a full velvet skirt, a red waistcoat with golden clasps, and a nobleman's headdress with a hanging fabric top. The waistcoat and headdress are decorated with dark fur. She is handing the letter to an elderly person; the man dressed in a kontusz bowed down. On the table next to the stationery there is a white sheet with the author's signature and the date, which was previously interpreted as 1735.
