Object description
Folk artists' figurative interpretation of angels is distinguished by the creative authenticity of wooden plastics. The angel's graceful yet somewhat stern image from the Kolodribka village stylistically and compositionally pairs with the work bearing inventory number C-I-1006. The full-length frontal figure with a slightly raised head is carved from solid wood, typical of folk artists. The angel's simple, benign face is defined by small almond-shaped eyes under low eyebrow arches, a straight nose and wide lips. The sculpture is frontal and static. The rhythmically arranged curls of hair do not disrupt the figure's stillness.
