Object description
The work is a full-length figure of an angel as a child with his arms outstretched to the left. The sculptural image is shown in a graceful pose, following the traditions of Baroque plastics. The figure of a small child is plump, with numerous folds on the torso, arms, and legs. The naked body is covered only by a drapery modelled by dynamic folds, the line pattern of which, when crossed, creates geometric shapes. The angel's rounded face is depicted with a soft oval contour line. A high forehead, expressive polychrome eyes, a snub nose, plump cheeks, and a small chin complement the dreamy image. His head is covered with wavy locks of shallowly carved hair styled in a neat hairstyle. Polychromy adds to the expressiveness of the image.
