Object description
The metal door fittings consist of two parts: a central arch (20.2 x 10.6 cm) framed by an ornamental ribbon with a keyhole, and an upper overdoor (7.9 x 14.5 cm). In the centre of the arch is a semi-naked female figure (Venus), with a child with wings on his back (Cupid). The figures stand on a floor laid out with square tiles. The overdoor with an ornamental border at the corners is decorated with winged figures, one of which holds a wreath in its hands, the other a caduceus. This is a piece of artisan work, made by a master craftsman at the request of the owner of the cabinet.
