Biography
Stanislaw Wyspianski was born in 1869 in Krakow. He studied at the Jagiellonian University and Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was a member of the Young Poland movement, and art editor of the weekly Życie (Life). Stanislaw Wyspianski is known as a playwright and poet, modernist painter, and designer. The artist died in November 1907. He was buried in Krakow.
Object description
The picture represents a fragment of a Roman Catholic Church, in the foreground of which there are circular-shaped towers. On the left there are Gothic spires and stained glass elements. There are no landscape scenes in the work.
