The altar crucifixes were an integral element of the church's interior. This Cross with the crucifix has a small rectangular base. The Saviour on it is depicted according to the Western tradition, with crossed feet nailed with a single nail. Having worked out the frontal part of the crucifix, the folk master emphasises the main aspect – Christ's suffering image. The exhausted face with closed eyes, the head tilted to the right shoulder, and the distinct chest are executed in low relief. The artist's intention to accurately depict the body's anatomical structure is evident in the graphically reproduced muscles and balanced proportions of Jesus' body. The work exhibits features of late Gothic art with a tendency towards a naturalistic portrayal of the dying person's state.
