Object description
The full-length figure of an angel is shown with his arms spread and his head tilted to the left shoulder. The sculptural image of the angel as a child is presented in a graceful pose that follows the traditions of Baroque plastics. The figure of a small child is anatomically accurate: it is plump, with numerous folds on the torso, arms and legs. The naked body is covered only by a drapery modelled by dynamic lines that intersect and create geometric shapes. A soft oval line outlines the angel's face. The dreamy, childishly naïve image is complemented by a high, convex forehead, small eyes covered by clear eyelid arcs, plump, sagging cheeks, an open mouth, and an expressive chin with a dimple. Wavy strands of shallowly cut hair styled in a neat hairstyle fall smoothly over the angel's shoulders. Tiny straightened wings complement the expressive holistic sculptural image.
