Biography
Laurent Grunbaum was a miniaturist artist, born around 1760 (?) in Hazlov near Cheb. He is said to have worked in Vienna and also spent some time in Hessen during the reign of Elector Wilhelm.
Object description
A bust portrait of a young man with short, curly hair is depicted three-quarters to the right, while his head is turned three-quarters to the left. He is wearing a white shirt with a wide turndown collar, unbuttoned from the top. He is draped in a blue cloak, which he supports with his right hand on his chest. The background is pale grey.
