Object description
The full-length sculpture depicts an angel as a young man with large wings. He is captured in a dynamic pose with his arms spread and right leg extended forward. The graceful figure is presented without exaggerated gestures or emotional tension. The elongated face, with a soft oval outline, is endowed with barely defined brow arches on a high forehead, almond-shaped eyes with voluminous eyelids, a straight nose, and a subtle smile. The flowing strands of wavy, detailed hair enhance the sculpture's dynamism. The artist has rendered the athletic body of the angel anatomically accurately. His figure is draped in a long tunic that falls from the right shoulder. The garment is modelled with deep vertical folds that smoothly descend, gently enveloping the young man's body.
