The figurative and plastic feature of the work is the reflection of the outstanding personality of the portrayed man and the vigour of his intellectual and spiritual life through the energetic modelling of the form. Intelligence and spiritual concentration are emphasised by the soft, refined modelling of the high forehead and face, with emphasis on the strong-willed contour of the lips and the meditative gaze of the large, almond-shaped eyes. The representation emphasises the contrast between the careful modelling of the head and the impressionistic sketchiness of the clothing. The sculpture's peculiarity is the association of the illuminated large dimensions of the face with spirituality and inner light.
